How has Avon changed in the past decades

Yes, Avon has been around for quite some time (130 years to be exact) but it's defiantly changed over time. You may think of your grandmother's makeup or perfume stash when you think of Avon, but it's time to throw all that out the window and realize that Avon is for you too! Let's take a look at how Avon has changed to keep up with the latest trends.

Evolution of lipsticks:
When Avon first started selling lipstick in 1919 it was sold in a metal case and only came in two shades, light and dark. In the 70s and 80s Avon incorporated the popular geometric prints and patterns into the packaging. Avon also started to bring in bold colors during this rebellious era like orange, coral, and fuchsia. Today Avon uses scientific research and a wax free formula that leaves lips feeling moisturized and plumped. Avon now sells over 400 shades of lipstick from nudes, red, peachy, corals, and purples.

Avon introduces mark. brand:

Avon launched mark. in 2003 to celebrate the "mark" young women make in the world. Avon understood that women love to be social and want to be beautiful and this is exactly what this brand represents. The mark. eyeshadow palette in neutral has often been compared to the popular urban decay naked palette. The clothing from mark. is made in junior sizes to best fit younger women. The brand also features Lucy Hale from the hit TV show Pretty Little Liars as their brand ambassador.

"Click Click Avon's here":

One thing your grandmother might remember from Avon is having an Avon lady knock on her door with a brochure or either her delivery. Now Avon keeps up with the growing world of technology by having an online site for customers to shop from 24/7 at their convenience. This site offers lots of deals and coupon codes including free shipping on orders over $40.

FAQs about selling Avon

FAQs about becoming an Avon rep and selling Avon

Q: How does it all work?

A: When you sign up to be an Avon rep you simply start by getting in touch with everyone you know and letting them know you are now selling Avon and offer a brochure. It helps to make a list of 50 people you know (family, friends, neighbors, co-workers) Also ask for referrals, you can ask everyone to share your brochures with their friends once they have placed their own orders.
Avon also offers the benefits of selling online. Post special offers and links to your online store on your facebook page, twitter, Pinterest and whatever other social networking sites you are on. On youravon.com you will find posts already created for you to share.

Avon ships the orders to you and then you deliver to your customers. Online customers will have the choice to have their orders shipped to them personality. Avon does require a payment upfront when placing your orders so you will need to collect at least 50% from your customers when they place their order and then the other 50% when making your deliveries.

Q: How much can I make selling Avon?

A: There are two ways to make money with Avon. The first one is by selling the products of course. All earnings are based on the amount you sell. Below you will see a percentage chart that explains the earnings based on your order size.
The second way to make money is by building your own team with leadership and recruiting.

Q: Is it hard to sell Avon?

A: Avon has been around for 130 years. Many people have heard of Avon or can remember their mother or grandmother using Avon. Since Avon is already known it makes it so much easier to sell.
There is also so much training with Avon university and also from watching youtube videos and joining the facebook groups of top leaders such as Molly Stone-Bibb's group Onward! No matter what, Milagros Garcia's group Build it Big Now, or Emily Seagren's group Makeup Marketing Online (these are just a few of my top favorite groups.) There are so many different ways to promote your business and you will find what works for you.
Of course it does take hardwork, commitment, and consistency to succeed. You earn as much as you put into your own business.

Q: Can Avon replace my full time job?

A: Yes! Many women have made Avon their full time job and make a 6 figure income solely from Avon. It all depends on the effort you put into your business and how much you want to grow. The book A View From The Top is a very inspiring book written by numerous successful Avon reps you can also read stories on http://kimberlystone.avonrepresentative.com/opportunity

Q: How much does it cost to start my Avon business?

A: It only costs $15 to be an Avon representative. That's the same price as going out to eat for lunch! New reps will then receive their starter kit, website, and free training.

Avon offers great incentives for new reps within their first four campaigns. Check out their current incentive where new reps can earn up to 40% discounts plus free samples and products.

Avon also offers new reps the opportunity to invest in the Elite kit for $100 (valued at $350) This bag is very helpful when showing off new demo items
Q: What do I get in my starter kit when I join Avon?

A: When you pay the $15 to sign up you will receive your starter kit for free (valued at $36). The starter kit includes a full size bottle Anew eye lift pro and moisture therapy intensive healing & repair hand crème (you can use these items yourself so you know about the product when someone asks or you can sell them). Also in the kit are the Ultimate night crème sample pack and Rare Amethyst samples (use one for yourself and when people comment on how great you smell give them a sample and brochure). Speaking of brochures you will receive 20 total brochures, 10 for the next 2 campaigns and a What's New demo book (this is the book that allows you to order products before their available for customers and discounted prices). You will also receive an appointment workbook that you and I can go offer to determine your goals and action plans.

Q: what is an incentive?

A: Incentive programs run for a short period of time and reward qualifying Avon representatives for attaining certain achievements like growing sales, customers or recruitment during that time. These could be small or big depending on the task. (Such as a full size bottle of perfume to a paid vacation)

Q: What is a selling campaign and how long are they?

A: The two-week selling period supported by a brochure that offers customers different products 26 times a year.

Q: Is there training for new representatives?

A: Absolutely! youravon.com offers 24/7 training with Avon University. You will also have personal training from myself and by attending your district meetings (although you're not required to attend).

Q: Do I have to have parties?

A: You are not required to have parties. However, many reps find that group selling is a great way to increase sales and increase your customer base. If you do decide to have parties Avon offers various training and support.

Q: Do I need to have products on hand?

A: At Avon, you are never required to keep a stock of products on hand. You may find, however, that your customers have personal favorites that are helpful for you to have available for last-minute needs. In addition, as a Representative, you are offered exclusive promotional opportunities to purchase products in advance.

Many representative like to order bundle packs at a discounted promotional price and gift them up to sell for holidays such as Christmas, Valentine's day, Easter and much more.

Q: when and how do I place an order?

A: You should place an order every two weeks at the end of each selling campaign (I say should because it's not mandatory to place an order each campaign). You can find your order due date on youravon.com or on your rps calendar. When it's time to place an order you can due so place placing it online at youravon.com or by calling your order in.

Q: How do I pay for an order?

A: After you place your order you will be asked to pay Avon you can simply do this by paying online with any Visa, Mastercard, or Discover Card. You can also send in money orders. Avon does not accept checks so make sure if someone writes you a check for their order they are addressing it for you not Avon.

Q: How do I receive future brochures?

A: You will receive brochures with your starter kit but after you will need to purchase them yourself. You can order brochures when you place your customer orders. A pack of brochures counts as 10 brochures (ex. 5packs = 50 brochures). The more you buy the cheaper they become.
