You can't be a chicken in the business word!

One thing you need to do in order to be successful in any situation is to step out of your comfort zone. I am a super shy person and I get scared to step out of my comfort zone but because I know that I need to do these kinds of things to help my Avon career get to where I want it to be I push myself. I'm not going to lie I think about it for a few days or even weeks before I get up the courage to actually do it. And once I finally do it I realize it's not that bad. One thing I think that helps me to push myself is to blog about what I'm doing or even make videos this way I can try to help others who may need a confidence booster. I find that when I do things like this it helps me to be energetic and ready to talk about it. So today I went out and tossed books for the first time and I made a video to help push me to do it. So make sure you click on the link to watch my first time tossing books and to get a few words or encouragement. Avon| tossing books for the first time

A Little Avon Throwback Thursday!

So I was just thinking about the fact that in high school when my mom sold Avon that was pretty much the only makeup that I wore, and then I realized today is Thursday and why not share a throwback Thursday photo? So here's my senior prom picture from 2010! I was wearing the smooth minerals foundation in the shade medium beige (back when I was tan) , I was also wearing the super shock max waterproof mascara, the glimmerstick eyeliner (can't remember which color I picked) and I believe the eye shadow was the luxe lace collection in a natural shade which I still have and still use almost every time I do my makeup (it's lasted a long time!) I was even wearing the Zoe Saldana perfume called eternal magic and I still have the body lotion which smells amazing! But enough rambling here is my throwback Thursday picture!

How to make an Avon display board

ok so I feel really bad that I didn't take a picture of my cute table I had set up at my avon party. I was so busy trying to get everything set up and going and plus I was running behind. For my table I just brought a pink table cloth from the dollar tree and set up my poster board, books, products, and cookies on the table. I also used a string of white Christmas lights that I intertwined around everything and in the middle I had a cute little flower and heart bouquet since it was valentine day theme. I really wished I had remembered to take a picture! But this post isn't to much about my set up as it is about what to put on your poster board when trying to make a display. I searched all over youtube and google looking for ideas so I would know what to put on my board and found absolutely nothing! I was so clueless but I just winged it and I think it turned out pretty good. which is why I'm making this post to try and help anyone else that needs help with making a display board for their Avon business. I got my 3 panel poster board from the dollar tree and I used some poster board letters to spell out Avon in the middle and on the sides I went with sell and Mark. I thought this was a good way to give information about avon and how to get started selling avon, also since most of my friends are in the younger generation I wanted to add in information about Mark. to target towards them. Then I used some decorative scrapbook cards that were in the set I'm using for my son's scrapbook so I could add color and not have to spend a lot of money. On each little card I just added info about each topic.
And I know this may be an "Avon sin" but since I didn't have a printer and the local library only prints black and white I decided to cut pictures out of my old books. I mean I did pay for these books and I'm still using it for my business so why not. I added a picture to show off the new Fergie fragrances, and since I added info about how Avon loves to bring awareness about problems going on in the world I added a picture of the Avon empowerment charm necklace and also of Lucy Hale showing off the mighty pretty M. powerment bracelet. I decided to make a dotted line to connect the pictures to the information cards.
I also added a big $15 for the starter kit and added how you can find great video tutorials on how to do your makeup on the Mark. website.
I am pretty satisfied with how it turned out and I even got some good orders. I hope this blog helped you if you are trying to make a display board and the best part is you can reuse it for awhile depending on the pictures you put on it and how long Avon keeps that product.

Make it fun for the customers!

So I'm going to be hosting my very first Avon party the week before Valentine's day! I want to make sure that this party is fun and not just another so called party where they guess just sit there listening to your all about a company while trying to stay awake and then leaving with only half the information you said in their heads. I decided to do a cookie exchange party using the cookie press kit from Avon. I figured it would give guest to opportunity to brag about their homemade cookies and it is always fun decorating cookies! I also decided to play the traditional purse game that gets played at Avon parties. I simply ask guests if they have typical items that would be in a woman's purse and for each item they have they get points. At the end the guest with the most points will win the skin so soft aroma therapy stress relief kit. Guests will love this as they are anxious to see if they have the next item I call out I will tell them how each item is linked to Avon (ex. Car keys: you can make a car payment with a check from Avon once you get into leadership. Insurance card: avon offers a great health, dental, and vision plan.) this way I can inform guests about the company but they are still having fun. But then I notice that after this game only one guest will be walkng away with a prize. So I decided to whip up something to show appreciation to every guest that came. I used my love for arts and crafts to make some cute scratch off cards that look like Valentine's Day cards. There are plenty of tutorials on Pinterest to make diy scratch off cards so I won't go into details about that, but once the guests scratch their cards it will reveal special deals and promo codes. I search retailmenot.com for different discounts I didn't want every guest to have the same one. All I did was write my message on a piece of construction paper and covered it in mailing tape and painting on the mixture for the scratch off part (so easy!) then it spice it up a bit I use some left over lace ribbon from Christmas and hot glued it to the edges to give it that Valentine's Day card look. I think they turned out pretty good and since I'm a crafter I already had everything I needed to make them. I can't wait to give these to my guests it almost feels like I'm in school again passing out vday cards and candy! I think this is a great idea to use to but in your clear literature bags when passing out brochures too. It will catch customers attentions and will let them know you care. It can be changed to fit any season and since most of the discounts are promo codes it will lead more traffic to your online store.
